Maui Robinson, aka Mortis
Original character, alternate reality version
Genre: Urban fantasy dark supernatural circus
A cosplay put together for an RPG and TikTok tag with friends. I converted a superhero character of mine into a supernatural circus performer instead. But we won’t get too deep into backstory on Mort here just yet. Part of the core of his character is that he speaks slowly, moves slowly, and doesn’t have a lot of facial expression range. These elements made him a challenge to cosplay, but it was still very fun!
The makeup look for Mort involves pale foundation, white face paint, and black eyeshadow. Very sharp lines for the shadows and blended out white highlights, to give him those cheekbones that could cut glass. As with many characters, I learned with him that blocking in the corners of the mouth with a darker shade was very important for really accenting the mouth movements in videos.
Total expected application time of hair, makeup, and costume: 2 hours
